Eek! Halloween just snuck up on us and you want to celebrate with something fun. No worries—this simple ectoplasm Halloween drink will do the trick. Just 5 ingredients, all you need to do is stir them together and enjoy the show.

Cotton Candy and Pop Rocks

A stroll down the candy aisle of the grocery store will provide you with 2 retro ingredients that will make you smile. You can buy the classic fair food—cotton candy in a bag and enjoy watching it disintegrate when it touches the liquid. Or you can opt to add a pinch of pop rocks to your Ectoplasm Halloween drink and watch the crackle and pop as the candy sinks to the bottom. Either option makes this bright green drink an interactive experience that will delight your guests.

5 Simple Ingredients

This drink comes together in a flash. No measuring or extra dishes are required. By using the vivid green Gatorade drink as the base you can easily assemble this concoction on the run.

But, if you want to kick it up a notch, the spooky addition of dry ice adds to the atmosphere. Check out my post on how to safely work with dry ice.

Ingredients

Scale

1 20-ounce bottle of green apple Gatorade (or you can use any other bright green drink

2 liters lemon-lime soda

juice of 1 lime (about 2 tablespoons)

2 packages of green apple Pop Rock Candy (0r watermelon is good as well) or 1 bag of cotton candy

Ice

10 gummy worms as garnish

Instructions

In a clear pitcher combine the green apple Gatorade with the lemon-lime soda.

Squeeze in the juice of 1 lime (to taste, but it balances the sweetness of the other ingredients)

Add the ice and stir to combine.

Garnish with a gummy worm threaded on a skewer.

When serving each cup, add a large pinch of pop rocks to the glass and watch it crackle and pop. Or balance a piece of cotton candy on the rim of the drink and advise the guest to tip it into the liquid just before taking a sip so they can watch it disintegrate as it comes in contact with the Ectoplasm Halloween drink.
